The circular aperture with 11 lamellas produces beautiful circular bokeh-unsharp background effects at F/1.4. The lens surfaces are equipped with Sony's Nano AR Coating II. This coating effectively minimizes internal reflections, even in bright sunlight and backlight, and prevents flares and ghosting.
Two XD linear (extremely dynamic) motors with their complex construction ensure faster and more accurate focus than conventional objectives for photography and videography. With this objective with large aperture you don't miss a single shot. The Sony FE 35mm F/1.4 GM objective has a minimum focus distance of 27 centimeters in autofocus and 25 centimeters in manual focus for excellent close-up performance with a large image angle.
